Other activities: research on microclimate effects on canvas paintings, consultant for museums and archives in the field of photographic preservation.

- 1998-2002: PhD thesis at the Laboratory of Image and Media Technologies, University of Basel, "Silver mirroring on silver gelatin glass negatives".
- 1989-1994. Department of Physics, University of Milano (Italy). Master thesis "Phase separations in colloidal solutions".

Jobs:
- January-December 2004: "degradation mechanisms of dyes in color motion picture films", University of Canberra, Australia.
- June 2002-December 2003: private consultant in the filed of conservation.
- 1996-1999: collaboration with the Netherlands Institute of Cultural Heritage, Amsterdam as conservation scientist.
